How
does this plan work and how does it save me money?
|
By having over 7 million members,
Careington is able to negotiate with dentists nationwide to drastically
reduce their fee schedule (what they charge their patients).
To
attract new patients dentists will contract with Careington to
become participating providers - meaning they now accept the Careington
program.
Then,
this pool of over 7 million members go to the participating dental providers
and save substantially with the reduced fee schedule.
The
providers are happy as they now have many new patients, and our members
are happy as they can save significantly in their dental costs....
It
is a real win-win for everybody!

|
What
participation requirements do I need to have in order to qualify as a
group?
|
You
only need 3 participating employees to qualify as a group. This makes
it easy to obtain necessary participation if you offer the program.
Most
dental plans require some participation percentage among the employees
in order to qualify as a group. This requirement can be hard to meet
unless the employer is paying for it. The CAREINGTON plan can
be a voluntary or partial voluntary program depending on what you, the
employer decides.
The
CAREINGTON dental program is designed to be as easy and uncomplicated
as possible for the employer.

Who
can be an eligible employee?

or part-time employees. Careington allows you, the employer to define
eligibility requirements.
Offering
an affordable dental plan for all employees can serve as a great attraction
and retraining tool for potential and current employees.

What does it cost
the company to have this program?
|
Nothing!
This is
designed as a voluntary program (although some employers chose to pay
for the plan because it is so inexpensive). There are no administrative
fees, costs, etc. charged by CAREINGTON.
The only
cost that might be associated with the program is the time it takes
to set up payroll deduction.

How long has CAREINGTON
been in business?
|
Unlike most dental benefit providers, CAREINGTON is the brainchild
of two dentists. Over twenty years ago they realized that many people
were not receiving proper dental care, due in large part to financial
reasons.
Some
companies were passing the high cost of dental benefits on to their
employees, many of whom were choosing to let their families do without.
Others were simply eliminating dental coverage from their benefits packages
altogether.
In
1979, the doctors founded a member network that benefited both companies
and individuals. They amassed a fraternity of dentists who agreed to
charge considerably lower fees to their counterpart patient members
. . . and it worked ! !
Their
expertise gives CAREINGTON firsthand experience when it comes
to understanding the care and needs of dental patients. Because of this
industry knowledge, CAREINGTON members are offered a dental benefits
package that is both comprehensive and current with the latest procedures.
Because
CAREINGTON was among the first to offer quality dental coverage
at a discount, we have had years to develop an extensive provider panel,
with over 20,000 participating dentists. In fact our provider panel
is one of the strongest in the country. Not only do we offer an extensive
selection of doctors, but our credentialing system guarantees that our
dentists have only the finest credentials. We also give the healthiest
fee reductions - two to three times larger than most dental benefit
companies.
With
over 3 million satisfied members and growing, CAREINGTON has
positioned itself to be the innovative dental partner in the country!

Do we have to offer
this as a payroll deduction program?
|
No, you
do not. You can have employees complete individual applications and
pay directly
but...
- You
lose the perceived benefit of offering a dental plan through your
company.
- You
make it harder for employees to obtain dental. Payroll deduction is
easy for employees
.
- The
employees will have a higher monthly fee as well as a one time processing
fee.
- Offering
a dental program contributes to an attractive incentive program.

When you are effective for coverage you will contact
a provider on the provider list and make an appointment.
You
will need to take either your temporary ID card that we e-mail you or
your permanent card which we mail to your home address to the dentist
office for your appointment.
The
dentist office will call CAREINGTON to verify coverage. Because
of this you do not need a card to get services, only either your member
number or your social security number.
You
will only pay the co-payment according to the schedule of benefits,
which are outlined by ADA code (American Dental Association).

What qualifications
determine if a dentist is eligible for our Provider Panel?
|
Dentists must meet our highly selective credentialing
process which is based on education, background, location, office facilities,
and other requirements.

|
Your employees
dentist isn't currently on the Provider Panel. What can I do?
|
Have your dentist call CAREINGTON at 800-290-0523
and ask for a new provider packet from the Member Services Department.
While we do not guarantee that a provider will join our plan, we have
found that when a provider initiates the process then the chances of
success is much greater.
Please
be aware that the credentialing and qualifying period can take time,
sometimes as long as six months, depending on the speed of response
from the dentist.
