6.2 miles, tons of obstacles, and mud in places we didn’t know we had…

Last weekend the 1Dental team tackled a 10K mud run event. Back at the office today, everyone is sore and still picking mud out of their ears, but it was a team-building experience to remember! The only thing that stayed clean was our teeth, and even then it was doubtful:

Some of us from the 1Dental team did a 5K Run/Walk last year, but this year we wanted to step it up a notch. It was a beautiful day, and everyone completed the event with a sense of accomplishment. See the 1Dental Facebook page for more photos!

Discovery Fit & Health has this to say about the benefits of mud:

One benefit of mud baths is their anti-inflammatory properties — soaking in mud and its minerals can help alleviate aches and muscle pains. Another mud bath advantage is the soothing effect mud and its minerals — including sodium, magnesium and potassium — can have on the skin. Soaking in mud baths can even help relieve the symptoms of many conditions such as psoriasis and rosacea [sources: Matz].

I’m sure they’re referring to a purer form of mud than we slogged through in our tennis shoes and athletic gear, but you never know.

Have you ever participated in an organized race event? What about a muddy one?
