Dentists recommend bringing children for their first dental visit 6 months after they get their first teeth or by age one. Routine visits would begin 6 months after that first visit. A routine children’s dental visit may look similar to the bill below using the Careington 500 plan.

An additional fee you might see on a child’s dental bill for a routine checkup are space maintainers (ADA codes: 1510 - 1525). Space maintainers can be placed in a child’s mouth in the empty spaces where baby teeth have fallen out. The maintainers keep those spaces open so permanent teeth can come into place.
