The setup fee allows us to provide an affordable 30-day trial window for those who simply aren’t sure if the plan will work for them. If the plan is a good fit, we want to reward members for loyalty and encourage them to keep up with their routine dental visits by remaining on the plan — which is why we don’t charge extra renewal fees. The setup fee helps us cover administration costs so we can continue to offer this plan at a low price.
Most companies offering dental plans not only charge a setup fee; they also charge renewal fees AND raise the rates on your plan the next year. Plus, their rates are often more expensive than ours to begin with — for the exact same plan!
We know that, sometimes, unusual circumstances happen that require you to cancel your plan after the first 30 days. In other cases, members finish out their year and simply don’t renew. However, there are a few exceptions.
